Debating "The Pope & Islam" with Islamophobes
A few weeks ago, Frontpage magazine invited me to join a symposium on "The Pope and Islam," and I accepted the offer. Only after the beginning of the discussion, I figured out that Serge Trifkovic, a die-hard Islamophobe, was among the panelists. Anyway, the discussion started with Pope Benedict's comments on Islam at his Regensburg address and extended to many other points about the history of the Islamic civilization, some of which are deliberately distorted by the proponents of the new McCarthyism, i.e. Islamophobia.
If you are interested, the full text of this symposium is available here.

I cannot see any difference between the people calling the whole Western civilisation "evil" and people calling a religion " collective psychosis". I am afraid, this attitude is going to bear a lot more bin Ladin and Slobadan Milosevic.
As for the censored sentences of Mr.Akyol, it is very surprising that the cartoons and other very rude references to prophet Muhammed were advocated in the name of freedom of expression but Mr.Akyol's sentences which are stating just a fact, were censored on the ground that it was a slender. Unfortunately, double-standard, a very common accusation against Westerners, proves to be true in this case.

Anything on a site which has ads for shirts saying, "I'd rather fight than switch to the 'Religion of Peace'" just has to be biased. I can understand that they want to invite a Muslim to seem balanced but when nearly every author and article on the site is against Islam, what can one expect?
I wonder... what is your reasoning for contributing to their site? Do you believe it does some good?
The symposium was, like all their others, disappointing.

I wonder whether Trifkovic has anything to say why Pope John Paul II visited many Muslim countries but never managed to make it to Belgrade, Serbia (a country Trifkovic have portrayed as in danger of Muslim terrorists in order to justify the acts of Slobodan Milosevic a war criminal).
No Muslim country has turned down several times a request to visit by a Pope as Serbia has done.
Trifkovic has never protested the killings and the tortures of Albanian Catholics in Kosova, or displayed any regret of the looted and burned Catholic Churches there.
Thank you to Akyol for telling the truth about Trifkovic. Shame on FrontPage.com for censuring their own debate.

Come on, do you really think you're doing yourself or Islam any favors by using this ridiculous "Islamaphobe" nonsense?

Mustapha-
Perhaps you should put a disclaimer on the top of your blog notifying visitors from FrontPage that the accusation of "ad hominem" attacks is false.
Thanks.

Messiah!!!
-----------------------------------------------
Deliver A Messiah, "Mistaken Identity" by Agron Belica brings forth an elaborative examination of who was put on the cross. Many theories suggest that the son of Mary (aka Jesus Christ) was not the person placed on the cross, but someone other than Jesus Christ himself. The author takes you through an examination paving ways of new insight of who might have been put on the cross.
To contribute to the present work, the author investigated and researched to seek the truth about the assumptive facts leading up to what people of Christendom believe to be the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Bible and the Koran are the main resources used as references formally presented in use of persuasive arguments and theories of why the author strongly does not believe that the son of Mary was killed nor crucified.
The author has made every effort to be as unbiased and objective in presenting the facts and interpreting the events in this present work. The author is not trying to stir up controversy, but only wishes to lead people towards what might be considered the truth about the events believed about the crucifixion. The author strongly believes that the prevailing powers during that era have camouflaged the truth. The cover-up of the crucifixion with a false pretext was to lead the masses of people in the past and at present to believe, that the son of Mary was really crucified, by the leading elite that was influenced by the Jewish religious hierarchy at that time.

It will be interesting to see how the Islamic world responds to this one. The Islamic veiw point is that it was Judas Iscariot who was crucified and not Jesus. This author of the book deliver a messiah mistaken identity claims an independant theory. It is not just a challenge in my opinion to the christian world, but to the islamic worls as well. After seeing the cover-art I think I know where he is headed with this one. Sounds like an interesting read. Christians should act christian like, and not make such comments. This is free country an the author has the right to express his ideas-opinions or what have you. Let us not forget that “History is not truth” but an attempt to get at the truth. Peace to you all.
